A selfless, soon-to-be grandmother showed us a handful of glossy magazine clippings at our first meeting in her Brookline condo. Proving that design is most personal when it captures a feeling as much as a look, her eyes lit up when she landed on her favorite image. The high-style space immediately became the inspiration for our design plan. We recreated her master bedroom, guest room, living room, and dining room with glamorous lighting, botanical prints and patterns, mid-century furniture/accents, and dreamy shades of blush and blue against a neutral backdrop.
A sophisticated mingling of prints coupled with punches of navy gives the living room a grown up yet inviting sensibility.
The picture of understated elegance: Botanical prints, a classic dining set, sea glass love seat, and a mirrored sideboard.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.”
– Henry David Thoreau
An ornate gilded mirror in the entry and a delicate light fixture in the hall echo the character in the landmark building.
